2 out of 5 stars Digital Concepts TR-60N Tripod - get something else!   August 21, 2010
Dee (Texas)
I'm strictly am amateur and don't need/want an expensive tripod (yet). But, I DO want one that works decently!
Since my camera is a Digital Concepts, I stuck with their brand to avoid the chance of incompatibility. The tripod shipped and arrived promptly, and I thought I'd like it, UNTIL...

* the lower section of one leg wouldn't extend - at all.
* the plastic hand crank on the head was loose and flimsy, and felt like it would break any second.
* the plastic head was so tight and "sticky" that it wouldn't adjust without really torquing it, and then you got HUGE movement that took your focus completely off track.
* I contacted Willoughby's intending to simply request a replacement, but their so-called Customer Service Rep was so haughty and condescending that I decided to take my business elsewhere. When you ship out an obviously defective product, the least you can do is be apologetic to the customer you've inconvenienced.

So I shipped it back for a refund, and am now shopping for a different brand, from a different supplier.
Save your money - it's a pretty sorry piece of equipment when an ignorant newbie rejects it!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Product for the money   August 5, 2010

This tripod is an excellent value for the money. It is easy to setup, easy to carry and easy to store. We bought it for a Flip camera and even just using halfway up and sitting it on my lap at an event, it significantly improved my ability to control the camera, pan and focus. It doesn't feel flimsy, but it wouldn't hold up to a pro schedule.

I only need a tripod once or twice a month, so it should hold up just fine for that. The level is helpful and the adjustments are relatively easy.

Bottom line: it's a very good entry-level Tripod for a casual user. It's very lightweight, easy to carry and has a lot of features for not too much money. I'd buy it again and recommend it to friends.

1 out of 5 stars Not what i ordered.   July 28, 2010

i ordered a tripod a few weks ago. when i recieved my package i was surprised to find a different tripod than the one pictured here. when i contacted ace photo digital, i was informed that i would have to pay for shipping to send it back.....pay shipping for their mistake? unfortunately i would be paying as much in shipping as i originaly payed for the tripod. so it looks like im stuck with the wrong product.....

5 out of 5 stars Tripod   July 27, 2010

it took a little bit to figure out what all the little knobs do, but I'm was thankful for so many adjusting options!

2 out of 5 stars not a good choice....even for the price   July 16, 2010
Bill
I bought this about two years ago and it was a great deal...or so I thought. I used it with a Canon XSi. It is very light (flimsy) but has great features for a cheap tripod. The main problem is that the metal screws on the adjustment pegs tear this thing to peices. If you slightly turn one too far it will split the plastic in half. Mine actually cracked (the first time)sometime during a move and setting it up. The next one I was responsible for. Just very cheaply made and thats what I expected for the money. If you can afford it step up to something that will last. Hope this helps!
